HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMAN

  8. You might take an SAT II Subject Test at the end of the year (tak with your counselor)

HIGH SCHOOL SOPHOMORE

  1. Continue to think about your future
  2. Take the PSAT or PLAN in the fall if your school offers it
  3. Take some challenging courses
  4. Going for the best grades
  5. Continue to be involved in school activities
  6. Continue to be involved in volunteer / community activities
  7. Continue to "read to achieve"
  8. Visit more college campuses
  9. Take a look at the list of senior college acceptances in the spring
  10. You may take an SAT II Subject Test at the end of the year (tak with your counselor)

HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR

  1. Keep in mind; this is the most important year academically
  2. Continue to think about your future
  3. Going for the best grades
  4. Take the PSAT or PLAN in the fall
  5. Continue to be involved in school activities, try to move into positions of responsibility or leadership
  6. Continue to be involved in volunteer / community activities, try to move into positions of responsibility or leadership
  7. Start the college process (the process begins in the late fall)
  8. Planning for standardized tast taking
  9. Select your courses for senior year carefully
  10. Research colleges and gather information
  11. Ddevelop an initial list of colleges during the spring

HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR

  1. Continue to think about your future
  2. Going for the best grades
  3. Continue to be involved in school activities, take responsibility and show your leadership
  4. Continue to be involved in volunteer / community activities, take responsibility and show your leadership
  5. Continue to visit colleges, add or subtract colleges from your list as you learn about schools
  6. Be attentive to in-school deadlines and procedures
  7. Continue to take standardized tests as needed
  8. Meet with college representatives who visit your school in the fall
  9. If you plan to applyearly, be attentive to the deadlines (Deadlines may be just a few weeks after school begins)
  10. Make arrangements with teachers and others for recommendations
  11. Give yourself plenty of time to work on applications and essay writing
  12. Get information of financial aid and scholarship
  13. Take advantage of interviews when given the opportunity
  14. As you receive decisions, inform your counselor, teachers, and others who helped you
  15. Participate in the open house/ accepted student programs hosted by colleges in the spring
